Laurie Meinke
| My desire while painting "en plein
air" is to enjoy the natural beauty we are blessed
with here in California, or to discover nature "up
close" during my travels in Europe and Asia. The
lure is to find a beautiful spot that speaks to me and
then to capture a sense of the place on canvas - simplifying
shapes, describing the effects of light and shadow,
and playing with color. I hope the results of these
activities prove engaging, or even inspiring for others. |
